Tanay Pai, student of Class 7 at Trio World School, has shown a wonderful performance at the 1st International FIDE Rated Chess Tournament 2026, organized by Ten Ten Chess Academy, Chennai, in the Classical Chess Tournament held from 6th to 10th May

He secured 5th position in the Unrated Category and has now become an official Classical FIDE Rated Player. This is a proud achievement, especially in a strong tournament where 87+ rated players from across India participated, with a total of 158 players.

Earning a FIDE rating is often the first major “checkpoint” on the road to becoming a Grandmaster. In a field where more than half the players were already seasoned and rated, Tanay’s ability to break into the top five of his category is a testament to his focus and tactical skill.
