Trio World School Hosts Taekwondo tournament as part of CISCE Games and Sports 2024; 600+ students from more than 85 schools participate in event
TRIO World School (TWS) hosted the Taekwondo event on 21.06.24 and 22.06.24, as part of CISCE Games and Sports 2024 where more than eighty-five schools with more than six hundred students participated.
The event saw participation from boys and girls in the categories of under 14, 16 and 19 years. The objective of the event was to inculcate healthy competition, while exhibiting talent and potential, bringing out the best in students. The event saw the participation of schools like St. Joseph’s Boys High School, Amber Valley Resident School, Baldwin Boy’s High School, Bishop Cottons, Caramel High School, Frank Anthony Public School, MES Kishore Kendra Public School, Sophia High School, Sri Kumaran Public School, Vibgyor High, and Vidyashilp Academy among others.
The CISCE school sports and games are organised every year to identify sporting talent at school level for ICSE students to encourage the holistic development of a child. This has been a part of the government’s initiative through Khelo India School Games and Khelo India Youth Games, respectively. The Council aims to create a sense of unity, integrity, honesty, fraternity, friendship, and true competitive spirit among the students of the CISCE affiliated schools.
The students who qualify will go to the next level, which is the CISCE National Games. After which, on qualifying, they will get a chance to participate in the School Games Federation of India where students from all boards compete. The next stop will give them the golden opportunity to be trained by the Sports Authority of India.
There games have various individual and team championships which have been divided into six to ten categories of which there are six individual and nineteen team championships to name of few – archery, athletics, basketball, chess, football, gymnastics, kabaddi, lawn tennis, rugby, shooting, taekwondo, and yoga.
As Milka Singh, the Flying Sikh rightly said, “As long as you remain true to yourself and continue training with sincerity, nobody can stop you from achieving excellence.”
