Ola! Bonjour! GutenTag! Namaste!
Trio World School is one of the few international schools in Bangalore offering 4 languages – French, German, Hindi and Spanish. Acquiring a Foreign Language takes time and effort Basic competency takes one or two years. Advanced competency arrives with one to three years of additional effort.
All 4 languages are offered from Reception to Year 11 – a number of students have opted for them in the IGCSE. We have Language Assemblies and also Language Quizzes to develop the student’s knowledge not only of the language but also the country.
Many students find that their native language skills improve greatly after they’ve learned a foreign language. Want to really stand out to college officials? Find a way to flaunt your foreign language skills.
You can increase your career opportunities with foreign language skills. There’s no doubt about it: foreign language skills are becoming more and more important in today’s society.
Does an English speaker really need a Foreign Language? Undoubtedly, yes! Bilingualism and multilingualism are required in today’s world. Poor language skills could affect a job or even one’s future.
As you can see, foreign language skills will open your eyes to new sights, opportunities, and experiences around the world. The possibilities are endless!
FRENCH 1st LANGUAGE
The after school French Program is offered to native French speakers -or bilingual students-, by a certified teacher from the French Ministry of Education. Using the methods, textbooks and assessment system of the French Ministry of Education, its aim is to allow francophone children to keep a good level in French language, especially if a reintegration into the French system is scheduled.
There are two multilevel French classes, taking place twice a week each, after the ECA program, from 15:10 to 16:30, on Monday and Thursday for “Cycle 1″ and Tuesday and Friday for “Cycle 2″.
The “cycle 1″ group hosts French pupils from year 1 to year 3. They focus on writing and reading, listening to stories and answering questions, each activity being adapted to the child’s age.
The “Cycle 2″ hosts French students from year 5 to Middle-School -and is also opened for older bilingual students whose French is a second language. We focus on grammar, spelling and conjugation through short lessons and exercises. Students are also encouraged to write (short stories, free writing, descriptions, guided writing employing a specific vocabulary…) and read (they will get novels and plays extracts to study). Again, the course is adapted to each level, but we also work all together as a whole group work is stimulating.
